KIM Malang City 2024 Short Video Competition Held

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) is currently intensifying the promotion of the potential of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to be more widely known. One of them is through the Short Video Competition for the Community Information Community (KIM) held by the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo).

Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when opening the Socialization of the 2024 KIM Short Video Competition at the Mini Block Office (MBO) Building, Malang City Hall, Thursday (1/8/2024) expressed his appreciation for the event which will later be able to further introduce various potentials in the Malang City area.

"I hope that the 2024 KIM Short Video Competition can be a positive event for KIM in Malang City to compete with each other in positive things. With the 2024 KIM Short Video Competition that will be socialized, I hope that KIM can provide a different view related to the potentials of the sub-district. Including information that is really of interest so that those who see it will be interested," explained Wahyu.

Wahyu is confident that through the initiation of this short video competition, it will be able to form an informative and communicative Malang City community as support to strengthen regional potential, including MSMEs with their unique characteristics and traits, thus further strengthening regional competitiveness.

"The implementation of this short video competition is one of the efforts to encourage the competence of all KIMs in Malang City as government partners engaged in information management and as part of the national information system network in disseminating information and absorbing community aspirations," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Communication and Information Service, Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos said that the use of videography in marketing and communication strategies is becoming increasingly important, especially in the current digital era.

"Through the 2024 KIM Short Video Competition, in addition to being able to optimize MSME marketing through visual power that can be disseminated through digital content, especially through social media platforms, it can also improve the ability of KIM members to be more creative and innovative in disseminating information," he explained.

By raising the theme of UMKM in each region, this short video competition presents judges from film practitioners, the Head of the Malang Youtuber Community, and the Owner of Mopic Cinemas Malang. Some of the things that are considered in the assessment include the video must be informative and contain elements of entertainment. With the holding of this short film competition which is included in one of the 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy, it is also hoped that it can further strengthen Malang City as the World's Creative City 2025.
