Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government continues to strive to significantly improve the economic status of the community from time to time, one of the programs that is the focus is cooperative awareness and maximizing the role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
If UMKM actors synergize or have awareness in cooperating, then this will be extraordinary and will accelerate economic growth. Moreover, some time ago the Sahabat UMKM program was launched, which will provide a large space for small and medium business actors.
These were some of the things conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when attending the evening of familiarity in the framework of the 77th Cooperative Day Peak at the Sasana Budaya Building, Malang State University, Wednesday night (31/7/2024).
"Until now in Malang City there are 625 cooperatives, and 336 of them are active cooperatives. In the future we will encourage the number of active cooperatives to be even greater," added the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Wahyu further said that his party will always support the existence of cooperatives through policies or through related regional apparatuses. Concretely, namely by providing assistance, creating competent cooperative human resources, education and training, socializing the importance of cooperatives, and monitoring regularly.
"Through the MSME and cooperative strengthening program, we are optimistic that the community's economy will continue to improve. So far, it has been proven that MSME actors who are members of cooperatives have an increasing trend in productivity," he concluded. (say/yon)
