DLH Builds Green Open Space at Jl. Gajahmada Intersection, There is a Monument

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The existence of Green Open Space (RTH) is one of the supporting factors for the beauty of an area. In addition, RTH is also very important for the fulfillment of sufficient oxygen, as a water catchment area, and other benefits. That is why the Malang City Environmental Service (DLH) is currently continuing to strive to increase the existence of RTH.

Head of the Green Open Space Division of the Malang City Environmental Agency, Laode KB Al Fitra, when met on Thursday (01/08/2024), revealed that the Malang City Environmental Agency will add green open space at the intersection of Jl. Gajahmada, Klojen District. At the intersection of the road, there will be a triangular garden planted with various types of plants. In the middle of the park, it is planned to build a Ball Monument surrounded by a colonial-concept fence.

According to him, the colonial-concept fence will further strengthen the heritage character in Malang City. "The fence will surround the park which is 36,61 square meters wide, and the Ball Monument with a width of about two meters and a height of 2,48 meters," explained Laode.

The construction of this park has started since early July 2024 and is predicted to be completed by the end of August 2024. With this monument, he said, in addition to adding to the beauty of Malang City, it is also a symbol or symbolizes the identity of the city which is known for its football club, namely Arema FC.

"The RTH development plan was actually last year. However, due to budget constraints and changes in budget allocation, it can only be implemented this year," Laode concluded. (say/yon)
