Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – A friendly atmosphere was seen when the ranks of the Malang City Government led by the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM received a working visit from the Bekasi City Government in the Meeting Room of the Malang City Hall, Wednesday (7/8/2024). On this occasion, a joint agreement was also signed between the two cities.
Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat in his speech said that cooperation between regions is very important and can be an important foundation to strengthen development synergy at the regional level. According to him, with the collaboration carried out, the two regions can exchange knowledge, information, technology, and so on.
"This not only increases efficiency, but can also encourage the acceleration of equitable economic growth. In addition, I consider this cooperation to open opportunities for each region to overcome challenges faced collectively, such as natural resource management, disaster management, and improving community welfare," he explained.
By strengthening relations between regions, Wahyu is confident that sustainable development harmony and a spirit of mutual cooperation in achieving goals can be created.
Meanwhile, Acting Mayor of Bekasi Raden Gani Muhammad said he was happy to meet and socialize with Acting Mayor of Malang and his staff. He said this activity was an effort to learn from other regions to be developed in Bekasi City. "Bekasi City has a very strategic position, with an area of 200 square kilometers and a population of 2,6 million people," explained Raden.
Bekasi City, he said, has 12 sub-districts with 56 villages. Bekasi City, which is also a miniature of Indonesia with its diversity, also received an award as a tolerant city like Malang City.
Regarding the signing of the joint agreement, he said that this is still general and later each regional apparatus can follow up with more specific cooperation. (cah/yon)
