Bali (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Economic, Infrastructure and Natural Resources Section (PISDA) of the Malang City Regional Secretariat held Capacity Building and Benchmarking with the target locus of Badung Regency and Denpasar City on 5-7 August 2024.

One of the reasons for choosing the Badung Regency Government as the locus is because the Badung Regency Government has won 15 award categories from the 2024 CNN Indonesia Awards, one of which is Best Economic Development and has been nominated for the TPID Awards for three consecutive years.

Assistant for Economics and Development of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Ir. Diah Ayu Kusumadewi, MT said that the Badung Regency Government has a very effective strategy to control inflation so that it has received many awards.

"Badung Regency has several quite effective strategies to control inflation that could possibly be applied in Malang City, so we chose Badung Regency as the destination for Capacity Building and Benchmarking this year," said Diah.

Adding, Head of PISDA Section of Malang City Secretariat, Ir. Eny Handayani, M.Si said that Badung Regency has the potential for inter-regional cooperation (KAD) with Malang City for several commodities.

"Badung Regency is an area that produces coffee, rice, beef and chicken, so this has the potential for KAD with Malang City to fulfill the needs of the community," said Eny.

The support of all TPID members and the commitment of regional leaders are very influential. In addition, the role of Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) also supports food supplies. As has been successfully done by Badung Regency through the Regional Public Company (Perumda) Pasar Mangu Giri Sedana which has succeeded in overcoming the high price of rice.

"Badung Regency has its own Rice Milling Unit (RMU) in its Perumda Pasar, so that the rice that originally had to be sent to Java first to be milled into rice, with this RMU the Badung Government can mill its own rice so that it can reduce the price of rice," explained Eny.

One of the tasks of the PISDA Section as the TPID secretariat, he said, is to make maximum efforts to maintain inflation, supply and availability of food and affordability of community needs, as well as maintaining effective communication with all lines.

On this occasion, TPID Malang City also visited Badung Market managed by the Denpasar City Government. Badung Market is one of the traditional markets that has implemented zero plastic which can be an example to be implemented in traditional markets in Malang City.

Capacity Building participants from TPID Malang City consist of representatives of several regional apparatuses within the Malang City Government, including the Assistant for Economy and Development, Expert Staff for Economy and Finance, Inspectorate, Transportation Service, PISDA Section, Legal Section, Regional Finance and Asset Agency (BKAD), Cooperatives and Industry Service (Diskopindag), Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Food Security and Agriculture Service (Dispangtan), Protocol and Leadership Communication Section (Prokopim) and Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) of Malang City.
