Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM appreciated the house renovation program carried out by residents who are members of the 'Berkat Malang Gema Kasih Kota Malang' community. 20 renovated houses were symbolically handed over at the Istana Dieng Housing Hall, Pisang Candi Village, Sukun District, Saturday (10/8/2024).
According to the number one person in the Malang City Government, the house renovation program not only helps the underprivileged, but also the Malang City Government. The reason is, the government also has limited budget, so programs like this are very positive and can be followed by other community groups.
Through this program, it will certainly help reduce poverty rates, because if a family lives in a habitable house, their health and welfare will also increase.
"A house is a place of shelter, a gathering place for families and will form a good family. From a house will also reflect the lifestyle and comfort for the family. Therefore, a habitable house is very much needed for residents," added Wahyu.
He further said, if a family lives in an uninhabitable house, it will trigger and cause various problems. "Disease will easily attack, it does not provide peace because there is worry, it seems reluctant to be lived in and so on," continued Wahyu.
"We are very proud of this group, because it is not only the house renovation program that has been carried out so far. Other social activities are being carried out intensively and hopefully the various things that have been carried out so far, such as donations for orphans, distribution of takjil for breaking the fast and others, can bring great benefits to the recipients," he concluded.
