Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) attended the Inflation Control Coordination Meeting held by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) virtually from the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) Malang City Hall, Monday (19/8/2024).
Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Commissioner General of Police. Drs. Tomsi Tohir, M.Si in his direction advised that the prices of commodities such as rice, cooking oil, meat and eggs must continue to be maintained to prevent inflation. "If in one area there is an increase but the neighboring area does not experience an increase, then that must be a special concern for the regional head and the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID)," he added.
Meanwhile, Deputy III of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Edy Priyono advised not to throw away commodities when the price is cheap, but to process or substitute them into other goods with high selling value. Or if it can be stored, it should be stored while waiting for the price to stabilize.
"Inter-regional cooperation must continue to be strengthened to stabilize prices and not trigger inflation. Sometimes in one region commodity X is cheap, but in other regions it tends to increase. This is where good cooperation between regions is needed," he said.
Regarding this coordination meeting, the Assistant for Economy and Development of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Ir. Diah Ayu Kusuma Dewi, MT said that her party will follow the directions in this inflation national coordination meeting. The woman in the hijab said that until now inflation in Malang City is still under control, which is at 1,83 percent. Although until now the prices of basic necessities such as rice, sugar and cooking oil are still relatively stable, they remain vigilant.
"If there are indications of price increases that can trigger inflation, then we will conduct inspections. Especially at the end of August and September, which are indicated to be an increase in the prices of necessities that can be triggered by the Democratic Party, namely the Regional Head Elections," explained Diah.
