Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Ahead of the 2024 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) simultaneously in Indonesia, the Population and Civil Registration Service (Dispendukcapil) of Malang City is intensifying the recording of electronic Identity Cards (KTP) for high school and vocational school students aged 17 years. Head of Population Registration Services of the Malang City Population and Civil Registry Office, Burhanuddin Al Jundi, S.Sos, revealed that this step is an effort to increase the participation of new voters in Malang City in the simultaneous regional elections to be held on November 27, 2024. When these new voters have ID cards and use their voting rights to elect candidate leaders in the democratic party, he said, it will also provide political learning or education for young people.
Jundi said, in making this KTP, his party targeted around 10 thousand students spread across 30 schools. "These young people must be pioneers and become examples in democracy, in order to give birth to a healthy political life," he continued.
"By having this KTP, students with educational interests can more easily and smoothly carry out their activities. Secondly, these new voters can exercise their constitutional right to vote on November 27," explained Jundi.
Not only serving electronic ID card recording, in this Jembol activity, Dispendukcapil also serves repair of damaged ID cards for teachers and other school elements. All of these services are provided free of charge and completed in a short time. (say/ari)
