Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia held a joint screening (nobar) of a film with the theme of regional elections entitled 'Tepatilah Janji' at a cinema located in a shopping center on Jl. Veteran, Malang City, Thursday (5/9/2024). This film is one of the effective media to provide political education to the public and also as a step to increase public participation in the Simultaneous Regional Elections on November 27, 2024.

Human Resources Division, Research and Development of East Java KPU, Eka Wisnuwardhana said that there are many lessons that can be learned from this film. For example, there is a scene of money politics that ultimately destroys the hopes of regional head candidates.
There is also a story about how a village head struggles and finally decides to become a candidate for regent. And after becoming regent, he must fulfill his promises to the residents during the campaign.
From the film that will be screened in several places, the East Java KPU is targeting a minimum level of community participation in the Simultaneous Regional Elections of 83 percent. The target amount, said Eka, refers to the results of the previous election.
"We will make other efforts to realize this target, such as involving religious and community leaders in a number of election socialization agendas," he continued.
He added that the KPU as the organizer of the democratic party will carry out the regional elections in accordance with existing regulations. The film also depicts the dynamics of the regional elections, the essence of which is that a leader must be able to keep his promises.
So a leader, he said, if you dare to promise, then you must be able to keep your promise. There are positive values and educational values in it. "This is certainly a moral value of strengthening in implementing the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections," said Eka.
The film screening and watching together on the film starring the Capital City artists Ibnu Jamil and Cut Mini is a series of film screenings from the previous cities, namely Medan and Samarinda. Next, this film will be screened in Bali and Kupang. (say/yon)
