Acting Mayor of Malang exchanges souvenirs with Acting Mayor of Singkawang

Acting Mayor of Singkawang Drs. H. Sumastro, M. Si sees that Malang City has the potential to be a city that is advanced in many aspects, so that it becomes a study destination for the Singkawang City Government. "As soon as I entered here, I felt the atmosphere of the present and its promising future, also for the Indonesian Nation. Of course, there is a lot of inspiration that we will get and apply in Singkawang City," he said.

Sumastro admitted that his party saw that community participation and movements to support regional development in Malang City were going well. This needs to be continuously fostered because not all programs can be implemented by relying solely on the APBD. In addition, the Kayutangan Heritage development is considered capable of driving the community's economy and providing new tourist attractions that attract many tourists. "We should learn this and make it a role model for Malang City. Hopefully we will get new input and ideas that will be part of our progress together," he concluded.

The Singkawang City Government delegation was welcomed directly by the Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan, ST, MM in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall. Iwan said that his party is always open to discussions and visits so that they can exchange ideas.

"We are very open to other regional governments, other cities and districts. We can share so that we don't just talk about Malang City, but we can also learn from other regions. This is a strategic forum to exchange ideas to build our respective regions," explained Iwan.

Iwan said that the existence of TSP provides a major contribution to a region. The role of the business world is very supportive of various regional government development programs. As is known, the government needs alternative funding for development, one of which is from TSP.

There are five areas of TSP implementing forums in Malang City, namely Social and Poverty Alleviation, MSMEs, Education and Human Resources Development, Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment, and Health. In the first semester of 2024, funds of Rp5.095.980.000,00 have been disbursed for various activity programs from the five areas.

"We continue to communicate intensively with the TSP Forum, which cannot be financed by the APBN and APBD, so the presence and role of TSP is truly strategic in contributing to development in various sectors," explained Iwan.

Not only discussing the implementation of TSP in Malang City, Iwan also introduced Malang City's favorite tourist destinations today, namely Kayutangan Heritage and Malang Creative Center (MCC) which is a home for creative actors to develop 17 creative economy sub-sectors in Malang City. (ari/yon)
