Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – To ensure the smooth implementation of the 2024 Malang City Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada), Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan, ST, MM paid special attention by holding a coordination meeting at the office of the Malang City National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) in a series of road shows for limited coordination meetings and evaluations, Thursday (12/9/2024).
Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan revealed that the big event of the Presidential Election (Pilpres) and Legislative Election (Pileg) in Malang City after seeing in the mass media and performance reports at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) went smoothly and conducively. "The implementation of the Malang City Pilkada later, we must maintain conduciveness. We have successful experience in organizing the Presidential Election yesterday," he explained.
On this occasion, Iwan also asked Bakesbangpol to ensure that the preparation for the Malang City Pilkada can run well. "We will hold a coordination meeting with Forkopimda to open the data. So, for example, the police provide data on personnel who will be placed at the TPS, to securing the distribution of logistics or APK. Then looking at the personnel data from the KPU or officers who will be placed at the TPS, the location of the TPS, and others must have data," explained Iwan.
Furthermore, the Acting Mayor of Malang reminded regarding the level of participation of Malang City residents who have the right to vote in the upcoming Simultaneous Regional Elections. "Dispindukcapil must have data related to the potential of the community who can already vote or are required to vote. Those who are 17 years old when voting must have an ID card. Don't let it happen that those who are required to vote do not have an ID card, so they cannot vote," said Iwan.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of Bakesbangpol Malang City Drs. Alie Mulyanto, MM said the working visit of the Acting Mayor of Malang together with the Assistant for Economy and Development of the Malang City Regional Secretariat to Bakesbangpoll was related to overseeing the Malang City Pilkada so that it runs safely and conducively. Starting from the staging process, related to facilities and infrastructure, and related to people, agencies and teams in the community.
"Regarding the stages, we have done everything, we are monitoring existing activities and currently we are in the registration stage," said Ali.
Considering that the Pilkada is being held during the rainy season, Alie hopes that there will be mitigation measures. "Our hope is that there will be mitigation security related to ballots, TPS, related to distribution, and related to locations," he added.
