Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Malang City held a Participatory Supervision Socialization through the Peaceful Pilkada Declaration on Jl. Ijen, Malang City, Sunday (29/9/2024). This declaration carries the theme 'Together with the People Supervise the Election, Together with Bawaslu Uphold Electoral Justice'.
At this moment, the Head of Bawaslu Malang City, Mochamad Arifudin invited various elements, such as religious figures, community leaders, youth organizations, community organizations and the general public to actively participate in overseeing the regional election process.
He invited those who see any indication of fraud and election violations, such as money politics and campaigning in prohibited places, to immediately report to Bawaslu members at the sub-district or village level. "Thus, a peaceful and integrity-based election will be created," he added.
"This participatory supervision socialization seeks to increase public awareness of the importance of supervision in regional elections. So it's not just a democratic party, but also our shared responsibility to maintain integrity and unity amidst the existing political dynamics," explained Arifudin.
The same thing was conveyed by the Acting Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Malang City, Drs. Alie Mulyanto, MM. He emphasized that violations and fraud in the regional elections would harm the implementation of the democratic party. "Therefore, supervision of participation from various elements of society is needed," he said.
"I hope that we can all become agents of change, agents of peace who will maintain conduciveness, so that the implementation of the 2024 regional elections will be free from polarization, racial and inter-group issues, hate speech, and hoax news that can divide the unity of society," explained Alie.
Furthermore, the bespectacled man invited all levels of society to maintain conduciveness and make the implementation of the regional elections a success. "Reflecting on the previous democratic party, we are optimistic that the Malang City Regional Election will run safely, smoothly and with high public participation," Alie assured.
Regarding this participatory supervision, not only during the campaign until the voting, but also after, namely when the vote count until the determination of the regional head and deputy candidates. In terms of this participatory supervision, Bawaslu will later invite representatives of various elements of society to receive special training or provision. (say/yon)
