Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The schedule for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) is getting closer. All State Civil Apparatus (ASN) are obliged to maintain neutrality. Acting (Pj.) Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan, ST, MM emphasized that his party continues to remind his staff to be neutral and free from practical political intervention.
Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan said that his party had carried out supervision and control. One of them was through the signing of the ASN neutrality integrity pact. "I, together with the Regional Secretary, regional apparatus, and all levels of the Malang City Government have signed it. That is what convinces us to be neutral. Regarding internal supervision, in every meeting forum that we lead, we always convey about Neutral ASN," said Iwan, Monday (1/10/2024) when meeting the media crew at Malang City Hall after becoming the Inspector of the Pancasila Sanctity Day Ceremony.
The man who also serves as the Director of Regional Development Planning Evaluation of the Ministry of Home Affairs revealed that his party is synergizing with the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in the implementation of this regional election. "We leave it to Bawaslu to see, monitor, and supervise the role of ASN to maintain neutrality," he said.
So far, according to Iwan's confession, there have been no reports related to ASN who are indicated as not being neutral. "So, the report (regarding ASN's non-neutrality) did not come from us, but from Bawaslu. We will continue to coordinate with Bawaslu. If there are things that are considered not neutral or not good that are done by ASN in the implementation of this regional election, I will coordinate with Bawaslu. So that we will work together on the way out, the solution, or what the sanctions are like," he concluded. (ari/yon)
