Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City's steps towards becoming a World Creative City are increasingly unstoppable. This was revealed after the announcement of Malang City's passing which was stated in the letter of the Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia Number: B/SD/1722/DI.01.00/D.3.3/2024 concerning Notification of the Results of the Final Stage of National Selection for Proposing Nominations for Members of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in 2025.

For the achievement of Malang City qualifying as one of the two cities that will represent Indonesia, Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan, ST, MM gave his highest appreciation. According to him, this is inseparable from the efforts and hard work of all parties.
"Alhamdulillah, I express my gratitude and extraordinary appreciation for the hard work of all parties, so that Malang City was selected as Indonesia's representative to be nominated as UNESCO's World Creative City 2025," he said proudly.
Iwan added that this success is a big mandate carried out by the City of Malang, so there needs to be strong synergy and collaboration from various parties, including in preparing everything related to the preparation for the assessment that will be carried out by UNESCO in 2025. With the hexahelix collaboration that has been built, he is sure that the City of Malang will be able to carry out this mandate.
"This is a big mandate to help make Indonesia proud, which requires a shared commitment. And I am optimistic that we can do it," Iwan said confidently.
Iwan said that Malang City's passing of the national UCCN selection is the first step before heading to the world-class selection in 2025. Therefore, in the future, Iwan hopes that the collaboration that has been established strongly can be a strength for Malang City.
"HR competitiveness, an increasingly better ecosystem, including the support of the Malang Creative Center, and collaboration of all parties, are the strengths that will be brought by Malang City as the best practice with the mandate as a World Creative City," he concluded. (iu/yon)
