Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Tasikmadu Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City held a Community Empowerment Festival at the Tasikmadu Village Office, Sunday (13/10/2024). Various series of activities in the event which were mostly attended by women included make-up training, a product exhibition of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and a traditional fashion show competition.
After opening the event and handing over aid to MSME actors, Tasikmadu Village Head Adhi Kristanto said that this empowerment activity was a form of concern for the community, especially those who are categorized as vulnerable, including the elderly, people with disabilities, the poor and also pregnant women and children.
The party also targets not only to be able to produce new business actors, but also to strengthen the competitiveness of the businesses that have been running so far, such as tempeh chips, tofu, fruit, and various foods and drinks.
From the makeup training, Adhi hopes that bridal makeup entrepreneurs will be born. While from the fashion show competition, in addition to preserving traditional clothing, it is also hoped that it can produce kebaya fashion entrepreneurs who follow current trends, namely modern fashion models but do not eliminate the characteristics of the kebaya itself.
"In this event, we give everyone the opportunity to sell at the bazaar and join a beauty class. Hopefully, it can encourage these community groups to have more abilities and be able to have their own businesses," he added.
One of the participants in the makeup training, Diana Nur Utami, admitted that she gained a lot of new knowledge and skills from this training. This woman who wears a hijab is also interested in opening a business in the makeup field in the future.
"We want the knowledge gained today to be utilized at the smallest level, namely the family. Then become a small and medium business, and who knows, it could become a large business that can support the economy and social resilience of the family," he said.
These various community empowerment efforts, said the Head of Tasikmady, will be implemented continuously. Together with the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) of Malang City, his party will provide assistance, so that what is targeted, namely giving birth to and strengthening MSME actors, can be realized properly.
