Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning (Dinsos P3AP2KB) held the Graduation of the Great Parents School (SOTH) Class III of 2024 at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Building, Malang City, Tuesday (15/10/2024). This activity was attended by 530 participants from 19 Toddler Family Development (BKB) groups in various areas in Malang City.
Head of Dinsos P3AP2KB, Donny Sandito W., S.STP, M.Si said, SOTH batch III was held as an effort to strengthen the community's ability and literacy related to comprehensive care in meeting children's basic needs. Regarding the material provided in SOTH, Dinsos P3AP2KB collaborates with Gajayana University.
"Technically, this SOTH is the same as the previous batch, but this time we are also collaborating with the Faculty of Psychology, Gajayana University, especially in providing parenting-related materials that are in accordance with current real conditions," he explained.
Meanwhile, Acting Chairperson of TP PKK Malang City Septiana Iwan Kurniawan expressed her appreciation for the graduates who have completed the curriculum given at SOTH well. Septiana hopes that after participating in this SOTH activity, parents will be able to form healthy and quality children.
"During 13 meetings, SOTH participants obtained a lot of important information, one of which was about family life planning. Through the SOTH Program, the community, in this case the family, can also play an active role in reducing stunting rates," he said.
Furthermore, Septiana hopes that TP PKK at both the sub-district and village levels can play a more active role in mobilizing BKB groups in their respective regions, so that they can support government programs, especially those related to handling stunting which is often caused by inappropriate parenting patterns.
"Therefore, I ask for cooperation from the Head of the TP PKK Sub-district and also the village to activate the BKB Group in their respective areas as a form of support for the government in order to reduce stunting rates," he concluded. (iu/yon)
