Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – As time goes by and technology develops, the growth of startup businesses and various industries in Indonesia is quite rapid, which of course supports the national economy. With the innovation brought by startups, various industrial sectors get an injection of fresh ideas, new technologies, and more efficient solutions to face business challenges.

Participants appeared enthusiastic about attending the workshop at the Mebiso office.

Startups bring creativity and flexibility in innovation, while industry provides a strong foundation in terms of infrastructure, resources, and market networks. Collaboration between the two is very important because by supporting each other, startups can grow faster through industry support, while industry can remain relevant and competitive by utilizing the innovations offered by startups.

This synergy not only strengthens the national economic position, but also creates new jobs, expands market reach, and encourages sustainable economic growth in Indonesia. For this reason, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is holding the Startup4Industry program. Through this activity, startups help the industry to scale up.

In line with this, one of the Startup4Industry program participants, Mebiso, collaborated with Small and Medium Industries (IKM) namely Roiloka to register a brand. "Brand registration is an important step that needs to be taken early on. By protecting ideas and innovations through brand registration, they not only secure exclusive rights to their work, but also build a strong foundation for long-term success in the professional world," explained Hesti Rosa, CEO of Mebiso when met after the workshop at the Mebiso office in the Dinoyo area, Saturday (26/10/2024).

Hesti said that the principle of brand protection in Indonesia is first to file. "This means that whoever is first has the right. Business actors who have registered a brand will get exclusive rights after their brand certificate is issued. This brand protection is given since the brand registration is applied for," he said.

In addition, Mebiso also helps Roiloka to increase revenue through brand activation. One of them is through the Roiloka Goes to Office program which is carried out in Malang and Makassar. In Malang, it was carried out at the Beon Intermedia office to make diffusers. "This is a program to build brand awareness of the product and also introduce natural essential oils that are full of benefits," added Hesti.

Different from other programs, besides introducing products, Roiloka also wants to provide experience to company staff so they can also learn how to make essential oils which are expected to be a form of healing, and at the same time hone creativity.

"We held a diffuser-making workshop attended by startup players. Starting from the introduction of essential oils, basic materials for reed diffusers, choosing the right aroma, safety in making reed diffusers, how to store them and others," explained Hesti.

Not only increasing awareness, the activity is also expected to be a material for creating content on Roiloka's social media. "So that it can increase interaction and the number of their social media followers. And it is expected to increase online sales too," he explained.

Not only that, Mebiso also helps Roiloka to optimize brand identity. Starting from product packaging, design, product photos, catalogs, and storytelling product winning. "Next, product advertising strategies, content collaboration with KOL and other knowledge transfers," continued Hesti.

With strong collaboration between startups and industry, it is hoped that the Indonesian economy can continue to grow and develop more dynamically. The active role of both in supporting each other will create an innovative and highly competitive ecosystem, strengthening Indonesia's position in the global economic arena.

It is hoped that the synergy between startups and industry can be the foundation for more inclusive economic growth, create jobs, and provide creative and sustainable solutions to future challenges. "Close collaboration between startups and industry not only strengthens the Indonesian economy, but also opens up opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth," Hesti explained.

This great collaboration also received appreciation from the Head of the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) of Malang City, Eko Sri Yuliadi when contacted via his cellphone. Eko said that his party would certainly provide full support in every activity that encourages the progress of business actors and startup business actors.

"These actors, especially the younger generation, will greatly help boost the economy, especially the creative economy, so that it will also grow the economy in Malanģ City significantly over time," Eko explained. (say/yon)
