Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Along with the development of the digital era like today, graphic design has become a crucial element in the field of visual communication, including in government media. The presence of graphic design is increasingly significant in conveying messages and work programs, building images, building public trust, and increasing community participation in development.

In response to this, the Malang City Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo) held a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for Graphic Design for regional apparatus within the Malang City Government, Monday-Tuesday (October 28-29, 2024). The activity held at the Malang City Diskominfo Office was attended by personnel managing social media for regional apparatus selected through monitoring the productivity of social media usage.
Head of the Public Communication and Information Division (KIP) of the Malang City Communication and Information Office, Ismintarti, revealed that this training also became a trigger for regional apparatus to be more productive in producing informative and educational social media content.
"Hopefully the material provided today can be useful in managing social media. Because the publication of education, information, and the performance of our respective work units is certainly also important as a form of government openness to the public, especially if it is packaged attractively, of course it will be better," he said, Monday (28/10/2024).
This technical guidance presents Fariz Rizky Wijaya, a graphic designer who is a member of the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI) Malang Chapter. The material presented on the first day was related to design principles in communication. On the second day, participants were invited to explore knowledge and skills in making infographics and utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for design. The material is expected to be a provision to support publication through information media content and visual communication of the Malang City Government regional apparatus. (ari/yn)
