Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Commemorating the 96th Youth Pledge Day in 2024, the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Malang City held the Youth Pledge Drama and Dance Performance at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) of Malang City, Monday (28/10/2024). The performances of the young men and women were beautifully presented, depicting the diversity and richness of arts and culture from various regions in Indonesia.
Acting Head of Bakesbangpol Malang City, Alie Mulyanto in his speech said that Malang City is a miniature of the archipelago, with the diversity that exists in this City of Education.
"The Youth Pledge has an important meaning to instill nationalism and a sense of love for the homeland for the younger generation. Events like this are moments to raise awareness of the younger generation about the importance of preserving the cultural heritage they have," he explained.
He said that this drama and dance arts performance could be a place for young people to channel their talents, creativity and innovation, such as collaborating traditional and modern arts that could enrich the nation's cultural heritage.
Hopes are also pinned on the youth of Malang City to become pioneers of change who inspire the entire community to appreciate the noble values of art and culture inherited from their ancestors.
"This also proves that local culture is not an ancient relic, but a valuable investment for a richer and more meaningful future," he said.
Alie believes that the youth of Malang City have the spirit to preserve arts and culture, as proven by the high enthusiasm during the Youth Pledge drama and dance performances this time.
"The implementation of the spirit of the Youth Pledge is also seen in this activity with the diversity of ethnic groups of the youth who play a role in the performance. This shows the spirit of nationalism which is a value born from the spirit of the Youth Pledge," said Alie. (cah/yon)
