Big Market Improvement and Drainage Priority in 2025

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The improvement of Malang's Pasar Besar and drainage in the Jl. Soekarno-Hatta area is a priority of the Malang City Government which is expected to be realized in 2025. This was conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan, ST, MT in the Plenary Meeting of the Malang City DPRD with the agenda of Delivering the Mayor's Response to the General Views of the Factions on the Draft General Policy (KUA) - Changes to Priorities and Temporary Budget Ceilings (PPAS) of the Malang City APBD in 2025, Tuesday (29/10/2024).

Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan expressed that the general views conveyed by the six factions in the council the day before were very constructive. "We conveyed 55 points of response to the factions' views, and that is our concern to follow up on the aspirations of the DPRD as representatives of the people of Malang City," explained Iwan.

Regarding the repair of Pasar Besar Malang, the Acting Mayor of Malang said that his party is currently preparing the required documents. "We also continue to communicate with related parties. Hopefully it can be budgeted in the 2025 APBD through PUPR," said Iwan.

Meanwhile, to resolve the flood problem through repairing the drainage channels in the Jl. Soekarno-Hatta area, he said that it has now been included in the East Java Provincial Government Information System (SIPD) with a budget of approximately Rp22 billion. "The execution for repairing this drainage is also budgeted in 2025," explained Iwan.

Chairman of the Malang City DPRD, Amithya Ratnaggani Sirraduhita said that the Malang Grand Market is indeed an urgent homework that must be completed immediately. His party also greatly appreciates the efforts of the Malang City Government to immediately make repairs.

"For this repair, the role of the Malang City APBD is also needed, although the budget from the central government is projected to be around Rp300 billion. And the relocation of traders when the repair of the Malang Big Market is realized later must also be a concern," said Mia, Amithya's nickname. (cah/yon)
