This time, FLLAJ Malang City is discussing three traffic management and engineering plans at several points that have the potential for congestion in Malang City, Tuesday (5/11/2024). Expert Staff for Economics and Finance of the Malang City Regional Secretariat M. Sailendra who was present representing the Acting Mayor of Malang appreciated the collaboration of all stakeholders that was well established to jointly provide public services, especially in the field of transportation and transportation in Malang City along with the increasing development of Malang City.

This FLLAJ activity was attended by stakeholders, regional stakeholders, and representatives of the community to provide input and recommendations on the traffic engineering and arrangement plans that are currently being prepared.

The increasing development of Malang City with increasingly high mobility certainly causes congestion in several areas. "There are several points that we need to rearrange. Let's discuss openly, so that we can formulate strategic plans that have a positive impact on transportation and community mobility in Malang City. With strong collaboration, we will achieve good results to create security, safety, order, and smooth traffic," he said confidently.

There are three topics of discussion discussed by FLLAJ with related stakeholders, namely the arrangement of routes and facilities at the Arjosari Terminal, the arrangement of access in and out of Malang Kota Baru Station, and the arrangement of the Jalan Brawijaya-Jalan Tumapel area. Various inputs were also submitted by each stakeholder.

Regarding the arrangement of routes to Arjosari Terminal, there will be changes to the routes of public transportation entering Arjosari Terminal. Public transportation will be arranged to pass through Jalan Panji Suroso towards Jalan Simpang Panji Suroso towards Arjosari Terminal. In addition, forum participants also emphasized the existence of strict law enforcement so as not to pick up and drop off passengers outside the terminal.

Second, the western part of Malang Kota Baru Station needs to be arranged because currently there is often congestion or even traffic jams due to queues of passenger pick-up and drop-off vehicles and parked vehicles, as well as the presence of traders who also take up the road. In fact, the eastern part of the station has provided a drop zone and a fairly large parking lot. Thus, there needs to be massive socialization for the public to be able to utilize the access in and out through the eastern side of the station.

Meanwhile, for traffic management on Jalan Brawijaya and Tumapel, parking will be regulated. Parking points on Jalan Brawijaya will be regulated on the east side, while on Jalan Tumapel it will be regulated on the north side. Traders in the area will also be regulated. (ari/yn)
