Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Approaching its golden anniversary in December 2024, the Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tugu Tirta Drinking Water Company of Malang City is giving a special gift to its employees. For the first time since the establishment of the regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) formerly known as PDAM Malang City, employees are receiving free education scholarships for tertiary education.
Perumda Tugu Tirta provides scholarships for 28 employees of the Tugu Tirta Service Cooperative by fully supporting them to study at the Malang City Polytechnic (Poltekom). Recipients of this scholarship are not charged any fees at all. "Through this scholarship in collaboration with Poltekom, we want to provide an opportunity to study for employees who may not have had the opportunity to receive higher education," said Priyo.
He hopes that this opportunity can motivate cooperative employees to improve their skills and competencies in the scientific fields they are pursuing. "If their potential is explored more optimally and they have a diploma with a higher education grade, that will be an added value and of course will open up more opportunities to be appointed as a permanent employee of Tugu Tirta," explained Perumda Tugu Tirta President Director Priyo Sudibyo when attending the opening of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) Poltekom for the 2024/2025 Academic Year, Friday (8/11/24).
In this way, according to him, regeneration within Perumda Tugu Tirta can run well, because it is filled by employees who have adequate capacity and capabilities.
The PKKMB activity, which was opened directly by Poltekom Director Erfan Rohadi, ST, M.Eng, Ph.D, aims to introduce academic and student culture, as well as provide new students with important insights regarding activities and values in the campus environment.
Priyo's presence was also to provide direct moral support to the employees of the Tugu Tirta Service Cooperative who were officially registered as new Poltekom students.
Although in daily work they work in multiple fields, some from General Affairs, Finance, Customer Relations, Production to NRW, the majority of employees choose the field of informatics engineering, which is currently one of the most needed disciplines in the world of work. (say/yon)
