Therefore, all citizens without exception must understand and continue what the ideals of the fighters are. Filling independence properly and correctly is an absolute thing to do.
These are some of the things emphasized by Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan, ST, MM when met after leading the 2024 Heroes' Day Commemoration Ceremony in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Sunday (10/11/2024). "Without the struggle and sacrifice of the heroes, it would be impossible for us to feel the joy of independence until today," he explained.
Iwan said, as a good citizen, one must carry out one's duties and obligations as a form of gratitude for the independence that has been achieved with great sacrifice. In addition, as a good citizen, according to him, a contribution to the Indonesian nation to maintain sovereignty is also very much needed.
"We must strengthen each other, synergize and unite to realize all of that. Currently, to be a hero does not have to take up arms or risk physical, but how our existence can be useful for others and the wider community. One of them is to support various government programs, both the central government, the province and Malang City in particular," he invited.
With various positive things done, it will realize a better and more prosperous Malang City. This is where the importance of unity and togetherness with various parties, starting from government elements, religious leaders, community leaders, youth organizations to community members. "By joining hands and closing ranks, we will be able to realize our common ideals, namely prosperity and welfare," concluded Iwan. (say/yon)
