Developing the Potential of Special Children Through Creative Training

Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The realization of Malang City as a city that is friendly to people with disabilities is the commitment of the Malang City Government. Various activities are carried out to make people with disabilities more confident and to recognize and develop their potential.

As done by Arjowinangun Village by holding community empowerment activities, especially for the disabled, namely painting creation training to train the motor and vocational skills of children with special needs (disabilities) at the Arjowinangun Village Pendopo, Saturday (9/11/24).

These special children also looked enthusiastic playing with colors and pouring them into a picture on a tote bag and cloth pouch. The implementation of this training shows that being special is not an obstacle to work and be independent.

Secretary of Arjowinangun Village, Akhmad Effendi said that this activity aims to equip these special children with skills and creativity. In addition, this activity is also expected to be a place to express themselves uniquely, explore creativity, find new interests, and increase self-confidence.

"People with disabilities must have equal opportunities to get a decent education, opportunities to work, and a place to develop their potential and achieve," he continued.

This activity was attended by 20 special children in Arjowinangun Village and presented speakers from the Malang City ABK Education Service UPT, namely Warda Isnaini, S.Pd and Dra. Nurfina Amanda Royani. (ari/yn)
