Surabaya (malangkota.go.id) – After going through a long assessment process with 29 nominees from other Regency/City Governments throughout East Java, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) finally succeeded in winning the 2024 Informative Public Agency award in the City/Regency Regional Government category from the East Java Provincial Information Commission in Surabaya, Wednesday evening (13/11/2024).
The award presented at the 2024 Public Information Disclosure Monitoring and Evaluation event was received by the Head of the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service, M. Nur Widianto, S.Sos.
The man who is familiarly called Wiwid said that this achievement cannot be separated from the commitment of all Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID) in the Malang City Government to continue to improve the openness of public information and transparency of information to all levels of society.
"Thank you to everyone, this achievement is the result of our hard work together. Hopefully this can be a spirit and motivation for us to be more consistent in realizing the openness of public information, in order to realize the implementation of transparent, accountable governance and can encourage public participation," he said.
This achievement by the Malang City Government is one of the implementations of the mandate of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information, which mandates that every public body is required to announce information periodically, immediately and provide it at all times.
Various innovations have been made by the Malang City Government to improve the openness of public information, including the publication of content on procedures for requesting information for the deaf community, the installation of text to speech features that are friendly to the blind community, PPID Goes to School, PPID is present at CFD, the addition of information request features in the Malang Mbois application and so on.
