Diskominfo Encourages KIM to Raise UMKM Potential Through Short Video Competition
Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo) of Malang City held the 2024 KIM Short Video Competition which was participated by the Community Information Group (KIM) in Malang City. Not only as a competition, this competition also shows the commitment and continuity of support from the Malang City Government (Pemkot) to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Malang City.
Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City Erik Setyo Santoso also greatly appreciated this event. According to him, KIM has a big role to support the existence of potential in each region, one of which is MSMEs through the dissemination of information. "Hopefully KIM can be our partner to raise the potential of the region so that it is better known, and not only enjoyed by the residents of Malang City. So the local pride of Malang City can go global, and KIM is a tool to bring it there," said Erik while attending the KIM Short Film Competition Awarding at Mopic Cinema, Thursday (14/11/2024).He said that this event can be a place to increase the capacity of KIM, such as honing creativity and innovation, capturing emerging issues, and also utilizing information technology-based media better. "It is proven from the short films collected that have extraordinary quality. This means that KIM in Malang City is already at the next level. With films like this, it seems that the information that will be conveyed will be more socialized and understood. Media like this is also expected to be more easily accepted by the public," he hoped.
Erik further stated that KIM was formed to be a partner in disseminating information and government programs, including feedback from the community so that government programs can be in line with community needs. "From the dynamics of the existing community, it can be captured, what can be input for the government, so that development programs that are top-down and bottom-up can always synergize and be in harmony," said Erik.
On the same occasion, the Head of Malang City Communication and Information Office, Muhammad Nur Widianto, believes that MSMEs are one of the potential areas spread across 57 sub-districts in Malang City. "We believe that every region must have MSME potential. So we want to explore this potential through KIM," explained Wiwid, as the Head of Communication and Information Office is familiarly called.
Furthermore, Wiwid said that this activity is in line with the efforts of the Malang City Government to strengthen the digital literacy of the community. With the advancement of communication and information technology, supported by various existing devices and channels, the Malang City Government always encourages the community to use technology wisely and bring benefits, one of which is using it for promotional activities which will certainly have an economic impact on the community.
"This is a form of collaboration between the Malang City Government and the Diskominfo working partner, namely KIM to strengthen the digital literacy of the community. The focus is on the aspect of digital empowerment of the community," he continued.
For your information, this competition was participated by 19 KIMs in Malang City. After undergoing a series of assessments by a panel of judges consisting of Achmad Faris (Head of the Malang Youtuber Community), Yusuf Muthaha (film practitioner and director), and Rulya Febrina DS (Owner of Mopic Cinemas Malang), the short film by KIM Pasreh Jaya was selected as the best. KIM from Bumiayu Village raised the product of Malangan masks made by disabled people who are members of Sanggar Naweswari. Furthermore, the short films by KIM Ganjur and KIM Mojolangu were selected as the second and third best.
Meanwhile, the Head of KIM Parseh Jaya Iswahyudi, said that the Malang mask by Sanggar Nareswari is one of the potential UMKM in his area. Not only creating good works and being an icon of Malang, but also empowering the disabled to be creative in making this craft work.
KIM Parseh Jaya also actively introduces MSMEs in the Bumiayu area through social media, as well as providing training and facilitating certification for MSMEs.
