Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City held a Simulation of Voting and Counting Votes at Polling Stations (TPS) for the 2024 Simultaneous Elections at the Islamic Center Building of Malang City, Saturday (16/11/2024). This simulation was attended by 300 participants from the Voting Committee (PPS) at the sub-district level and the District Election Committee (PPK).

The chairman of the Malang City KPU, Muhamad Toyib, said that this simulation was held to prevent and reduce errors during the implementation of voting in the Simultaneous Regional Elections on November 27, 2024. Toyib gave an example, such as ensuring and adjusting the logistical needs at each Polling Station (TPS). For example, how many ballot papers and boxes are needed, counting ballots and ensuring the security of the polling station. In addition, it is also related to the number of disabled voters and whether there are supporting facilities and infrastructure, such as wheelchairs and Braille ballots.
"Later, technically, those friends at each TPS will really understand the procedures and implementation of the voting and counting process. If it is considered that they still don't understand, then another simulation will be held at the sub-district level," added Toyib.
After this simulation, the Malang City KPU will also provide technical guidance (bimtek) for election officials at the sub-district and district levels. "Hopefully the implementation of the upcoming Simultaneous Pilkada can avoid even the slightest error," he hoped.
Responding to the matter conveyed by the Head of the Malang City KPU, Plt. Head of Bakesbangpol Malang City, Alie Mulyanto who was present representing the Acting Mayor of Malang expressed his appreciation. According to him, this simulation is one of the evidences and benchmarks of the KPU's readiness ahead of the implementation of the regional elections.
"From this agenda, it will also increase public literacy which will also increase the number of participation. We hope that what the KPU targets will be realized well, namely understanding for officers and suppressing errors during the regional elections," he said. (say/yon)
