Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – In order to realize a Child-Friendly City that provides facilities for improving children's talents and competencies, the Malang City Children's Forum held a Public Speaking Training for its members, Sunday (17/11/2024). The activity held at the Children's Forum Secretariat (former Malang City Social Service Office, Jl. Sulfat, Malang City) is a form of collaboration with students of the State University of Malang (UM), which aims to hone public speaking skills effectively, confidently, and professionally.

The Malang City Children's Forum Companion, Achmad Lutfi, revealed that the Children's Forum is present as a place for children to develop. "The children's forum must be able to increase the productivity and quality of children, to be more creative and innovative. We also want to increase motivation, improve communication and interpersonal relationships, learning and self-development," he explained.
Lutfi said that public speaking is a skill that can be trained and developed. "Public speaking is a soft skill that is very much needed in the world of work. In addition, public speaking can also help develop leadership skills," he continued.
Various basic public speaking techniques, such as emotional management, voice intonation, to strategies for dealing with the audience were given by resource person Sabrina Salsabila. Public speaking, Sabrina emphasized, is not just about speaking, but also about delivering messages in an impressive way and building connections with listeners.
