"L2S is divided into two categories, namely school literacy and student literacy. This literacy competition is a new competition, so we have to do several stages," said Suwarjana.
The first stage before the competition was held was to hold a literacy workshop, where finally 15 nominees from 15 elementary schools and 15 junior high schools were visited. In total, there were 500 works by elementary and junior high school students that were selected. "Then the 15 nominees who entered were announced, and finally interviews were conducted, both at the elementary and junior high school levels," explained Suwarjana.
Suwarjana also assessed that the level of literacy of students and schools in Malang City is currently good. "However, it must still be improved to be more perfect," said Suwarjana.
Meanwhile, the Expert Staff for Law, Government and Politics of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Tabrani, representing the Acting Mayor of Malang, welcomed L2S which he said could improve the quality of human resources in Malang City.
