Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to commemorate the 2024 National Agrarian and Spatial Planning Day (Hantaru) as well as campaigning to eradicate illegal cigarettes, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) held a joint cycling activity with a total route of 20 kilometers that passed through the Malang City landscape with its various beauties, Sunday (24/11/2024).
Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan was seen taking part in the group cycling which started from the front yard of Malang City Hall together with Acting Chairperson of Malang City PKK Septiana Iwan Kurniawan, Malang City Regional Secretary, and the ranks of Malang City Forkopimda. The Acting Mayor of Malang also expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this activity which successfully collaborated sports activities with the socialization of government programs."I express my gratitude to God for the holding of today's event, which is extraordinary for me, because by exercising, especially cycling, I can also raise awareness regarding spatial planning and fighting illegal cigarettes," he explained.
Regarding Hantaru 2024, Iwan said that socialization regarding spatial planning is important for the community. As is well known, Malang City has an area that does not change, but its population continues to grow so that spatial planning needs to be maintained. Currently, there are many investors who want to enter and invest in Malang City, but with the limited land available, the Malang City Government must commit to maintaining the existing spatial planning in accordance with the policies that have been made and arranged in regional regulations (perda).
"There is already a regulation on spatial planning, the Detailed Spatial Planning Plan (RDTR) is already there. It remains to be seen how to apply it. That is what we must consistently implement in accordance with the policies that have been prepared in the spatial planning regulations in Malang City so that it remains under control," he said.
In the future, Iwan hopes that through the socialization carried out today, the public will understand and be able to participate in implementing existing policies.
Meanwhile, Head of the Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Heru Mulyono said that the cycling activity with the theme Hantaru Spirit 2024 was a series of activities of the Malang City Satpol PP in carrying out the Gempur Cigarettes Illegal campaign which was collaborated with the Hantaru commemoration. Different from before, this socialization activity collaborated with the bicycle community, with the hope that the message related to the Gempur Cigarettes Illegal campaign could spread virally in the community.
"This collaboration is also done because we want to campaign against illegal cigarettes outdoors, and can collaborate with various communities. Well, for this time we collaborate with the bicycle community, so that the message can also be spread," Heru explained.
Heru further explained that Satpol PP Malang City together with Malang Customs will continue to socialize Gempur Cigarette Illegal to the public. "We will still do the next socialization, such as next week we will also conduct socialization to illegal cigarette sellers who were previously included in the joint operation that we carried out a few days ago. Hopefully, with this sanction and socialization they will be deterred," he explained.
As part of a series of activities, at the end of Hantaru Spirit 2024, namely in the Mini Block Office area of Malang City Hall (Tarekot), a Talkshow on Eradicating Illegal Cigarettes was also held, presenting the resource person, the First Customs Inspector of the Malang Regional Customs Office, Muchammad Fikri.
In the talk show session, Fikri reminded the public not to get involved in the distribution of illegal cigarettes. Because the punishment for anyone involved in the distribution of illegal cigarettes is also not a joke, starting from administrative sanctions to imprisonment.
"We also invite the community to play an active role in preventing the circulation of illegal cigarettes, by reporting to us if they find any violations of the circulation of illegal cigarettes. There is no need to worry or be afraid, because we will fully protect the confidentiality of the reporter," he concluded. (iu/yn)
