Starfruit (malangkota.g.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan invited all RW (Regional Community Association) Chairmen throughout Malang City to help make the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) a success. This was conveyed by the number one person in the Malang City Government in the Capacity Building activity for RW Chairmen throughout Malang City at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Malang City, Monday (25/11/2024).
This activity is a series of the 79th Anniversary of East Java Province which carries the theme 'Readiness of Community Units throughout Malang City in Making the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections a Success'. "These RT/RW colleagues have a strategic role, both in maintaining security, conduciveness, neutrality, anticipating various problems that arise in the community, and playing an important role in increasing the level of community participation in the upcoming Pilkada," he explained.
Iwan also asked the sub-district heads, village heads, and all elements of society to communicate intensively in order to maintain stability ahead of the implementation of the Pilkada. "Maintain the conditions of the quiet period stage which requires collaboration and synergy from RT/RW, so that the situation remains conducive according to shared expectations. Then secondly, when the logistics distribution stage has reached the sub-district level, meaning Mr. Sub-district Head, please maintain the distribution well. In the third stage, the distribution from the sub-district that will enter the TPS, please maintain it, Mr. Village Head, RT, RW, and the entire community, please maintain it well," explained Iwan again.
Finally, Iwan advised to always maintain conduciveness during the voting process. "Our main emphasis is neutrality, secondly conduciveness, maintaining security and avoiding unwanted things. In accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, all regional heads or assigned officials must maintain regional conditions, maintain comfort and security in their respective areas," he explained further.
On the same occasion, Head of Government Section of Malang City Secretariat Yuyun Nanik Ekowati said that her party had conducted several socializations, both for sub-district heads, village heads, government and public order officers. "Today is for all RW Chairmen throughout Malang City. Hopefully we can work together to maintain conduciveness and increase the number of community participation," said Yuyun.
He revealed that the Fixed Voters List (DPT) for the Malang City Pilkada was set at 660.744 voters, so there must be support from the region, especially the RW Head who is in direct contact with the community so that community participation increases, especially since this Pilkada is to elect the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Malang.
