Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – 3.147 joint personnel attended the Roll Call for the Shifting of Polling Station (TPS) Security Personnel in the context of Securing the 2024 Malang City Pilkada which was held at the Gajayana Stadium, Malang City, Tuesday (26/11/2024). The roll call led by the Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan was attended by the Forkopimda ranks and heads of regional apparatus within the Malang City Government.
Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties involved in the preparation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in Malang City, both the Forkopimda ranks, and all personnel who were on standby in the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections. "This roll call is an important step to ensure the readiness of all personnel who will be on duty," explained Iwan.
The Acting Mayor of Malang also advised all personnel to always maintain their health, considering that the duties in the Simultaneous Regional Elections require extra energy. Therefore, the Malang City Government has prepared various supporting facilities for officers, ranging from vitamin supplements, social health insurance, and employment.
"We have also coordinated with the Malang City Health Office, so that health centers in each region are ready to assist officers who need health assistance," explained Iwan.
Iwan also invited all members of the community to pray and play an active role so that the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections runs smoothly, peacefully, conducively and all personnel on duty remain healthy until the end of the process.
On the same occasion, Malang City Police Chief Senior Commissioner Nanang Haryono revealed that in Malang City there are 1.188 polling stations with the majority being categorized as less vulnerable. Meanwhile, the joint security officers consist of 557 Polri personnel, 214 TNI and 2.360 community protection (linmas) members.
"Each TPS in a non-vulnerable area is guarded by two Polri personnel and two Linmas personnel, if the escalation of vulnerability is quite high, it will be adjusted," explained Nanang.
Nanang also appealed to the entire community to help maintain conduciveness and use their voting rights properly in the Malang City Pilkada contest. He said that community participation is the key to the success of the implementation of the democratic party. (cah/yn)
