Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government appreciates the steps taken by the Malang Financial Services Authority (OJK) in initiating the activation of Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan as a Financial Inclusion Area (KIK). This is a form of synergy and cross-sector collaboration that has one goal, namely to advance this City of Education.

This point was conveyed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, when he was present representing the Acting Mayor of Malang at the Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan Activation event as a Financial Inclusion Area, Wednesday (4/12/2024).
Regional Secretary Erik said that this is proof of hexahelix synergy. "If previously we carried pentahelix, then with the synergy of banking friends it becomes pentahelix. This is one concrete form. Kayutangan is a success story of the success of the synergy of community and government participation," he explained.
"Moreover, this initiation is carried out in Kayutangan, which we are currently developing and continuing to develop. Kayutangan is not only a historical site, but also a very vital locomotive in the development of the business and tourism sectors in Malang City," he explained again.
The Regional Secretary of Malang City said that with its strong identity as a center of creative economic activity, Kayutangan has succeeded in attracting the attention of local and foreign tourists. According to him, this proves that the synergy between culture, tourism, and the financial sector is able to create a competitive ecosystem.
"Therefore, the effort to make Kayutangan area a Financial Inclusion Area is very strategic. By integrating financial literacy, easy access to financial services, and empowering MSMEs, we can increase the economic potential of the community while strengthening the position of Malang City as a center for the creative economy," he explained further.
OJK Malang, Erik said, has played an important role through this inclusion program. The hope is that this program will not only make it easier for people to access financial services, but also encourage business actors to be more innovative and adaptive to the development of the times, especially in utilizing digital technology.
"I invite all parties, from business actors, creative communities, to financial institutions, to continue collaborating. Let's make Kayutangan a model for a financial inclusion area based on culture and tourism. With this step, we will not only strengthen the local economy, but also raise the name of Malang City as a leading destination at the national and international levels," he said.
On the same occasion, the Head of OJK Malang Biger Adzanna Magribi said that there are five financial services industries that fully support the KIK Kawasan Kajoetangan Heritage, namely BRI, Bank Jatim, BNI, BCA and Bank Mandiri.
"This shows the embodiment of synergy between the government, OJK and banking. This is where the real role of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) is manifested," said Biger.
Previously, in November 2023, OJK launched the Kajoetangan Heritage Area KIK as a Financial Inclusion Area at the peak of Financial Inclusion Month (BIK) 2023.
Biger also said that the activation of KIK in Kayutangan will not stop here, in fact this is a new starting line. "Let's advance KIK Kajoetangan Heritage together," he invited. (cah/yn)
