Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – In order to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2024, the Malang City Government held a meaningful event to create public awareness and understanding of the importance of accessibility and equality for people with disabilities so that they can actively participate in every aspect of daily life.
In an activity with the theme 'Strengthening the Leadership of People with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future' at the Malang Creative Center (MCC), Thursday (5/12/2024), Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan emphasized the importance of programs to increase the capacity, achievements, and empowerment of people with disabilities.
The Acting Mayor of Malang also gave a thumbs up to various programs that have been running in Malang City to improve accessibility and quality of life for people with disabilities. "I appreciate all stakeholders, be it non-governmental organizations or institutions, organizations in Malang City who have struggled to accompany and provide confidence to fellow disabled people to have the spirit of life and pursue achievements so that there is pride for themselves, for their families and for Malang City," said the Acting Mayor of Malang in his speech.
The commemoration of the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an important moment to raise public awareness of the importance of empowerment and inclusivity for people with disabilities. With the spirit of togetherness, it is hoped that Malang City can continue to be a friendly city for all residents, without exception.
The event was also enlivened by various special performances from the disabled, one of which was a movement and song performance that showed extraordinary talent and spirit.
