Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City once again held an international-scale sport tourism event. This time, Malang City hosted the XIII National Folding Bike Jamboree (Jamselinas) 2024, Saturday (7/12/2024). No less than 3.000 participants attended this grand gathering for folding bike lovers, both individually and from communities from various districts/cities in Indonesia, even abroad.
Breathing in the cool air while enjoying the landscape of Malang City is certainly a special attraction for the foldies who participated in this year's official Jamselinas ride. Starting from Malang City Hall, these cyclists crossed several roads in Malang City until ending at Graha Cakrawala, State University of Malang. Participants were not only able to enjoy the city streets but were also treated to views of rice fields and mountains.
Proudly, the Acting Mayor of Malang revealed that his party received many positive testimonials from participants who were satisfied with the beautiful views. "We enjoyed the city streets, heritage areas, there were rice fields, and there were mountain views. They commented that the route was extraordinary, all segments were passed well. I also appreciate the committee who have determined the segments that are an attraction for Malang City to be introduced to all participants, especially those from outside East Java and abroad," he said.
The Acting Mayor of Malang will also continue to support sports tourism events, both regional, national, and international levels, so that they are held more often in Malang City. Iwan said that events like this will also have an impact on the economic cycle of Malang City. "With events like this, it will certainly increase, increase the original income for Malang City. This is what we must maintain to further echo sports tourism," he explained.
Not only the official ride, in Jamselinas in Malang City, a series of activities are also held, including the largest folding bicycle exhibition and contest in Indonesia and a gala dinner.
For your information, Jamselinas XIII Malang 2024 is an annual event for Indonesia Folding Bike (IDFB) and is part of a series of events to commemorate the 110th Anniversary of Malang City. The holding of Jamselinas XIII is also a form of cooperation between the Malang City Government and activists and enthusiasts of cycling, especially folding bikes in Indonesia. (ari/yn)
