One of the residents of Cemorokandang Village, Munari, expressed his happiness with the holding of this GPM. This is because the prices of basic necessities sold are cheaper compared to those in the market. "Today I bought rice, cooking oil, sugar and eggs. It is indeed cheaper, there is a price difference although not much," explained Munari.

Munari hopes that the Malang City Government will hold activities like this more often, because it really helps the community to get basic necessities with good quality but at affordable prices.

Similarly, Lely, a resident of Jl. Sampurno, Cemorokandang Village, said that the price of basic necessities in the market is currently continuing to rise, especially approaching Christmas and New Year. She also welcomed the holding of GPM, because it provides various commodities at cheaper prices. "Today I bought rice and eggs. The price is cheaper than in the market. Lahap rice, 5 kg size, is sold for IDR 67.500, -, cheaper by IDR 5.000, -," explained Lely.

Likewise with eggs, in the market it is sold for Rp30.000/kg, while in this GPM it is stated that the mother of two children was redeemed for Rp25.000/kg. "Hopefully in Cemorokandang Village there will be more GPM, so we can get various basic necessities at cheaper prices," explained Lely.

The Head of GPM Cemorokandang Village, Feliska, said that GPM is an effort by the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) to provide basic necessities for the community at affordable prices as well as a step to stabilize the prices of basic commodities. "From the 16 times the GPM was implemented in villages in Malang City, it was always enthusiastically welcomed by the community, including this time in Cemorokandang Village," explained Feliska.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Food and Agriculture Service, Slamet Husnan Hariyadi, confirmed that his party had held GPM since early November 2024 to help residents meet their basic needs of quality but at affordable prices. "GPM is an effort to stabilize the price of basic necessities as an instrument for controlling inflation," explained Slamet.

Especially now that Christmas and New Year are approaching, the government continues to take strategic steps to stabilize the prices of basic necessities while maintaining the availability of goods in the market. (cah/yn)
