Hakordia 2024, Malang City Government Affirms Commitment to Eradicating Corruption

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – As a form of commitment to eradicating corruption, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, ST, MT together with the regional apparatus within the Malang City Government (Pemkot) participated in a series of online events to commemorate World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2024 from the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) Malang City Hall, Monday (9/12/2024).

Carrying the theme of Strengthening the Commitment to Eradicating Corruption for an Advanced Indonesia, the commemoration of Hakordia 2024 is an important momentum in strengthening the joint commitment to eradicating corruption and encouraging the creation of an anti-corruption culture in Indonesia.

Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Gunawan, representing the President of the Republic of Indonesia, in his speech expressed the government's commitment to eradicating corruption which is also stated in the spirit of Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, point 7, namely strengthening political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms, as well as strengthening the prevention and eradication of corruption and drugs.

"Hakordia is a very important medium in conveying anti-corruption messages to all levels of society in collaborative and educational activities. So it is hoped that it can build collective awareness that corruption is an enemy of the nation that can be fought to achieve Indonesia Emas 2045," explained Budi.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK RI) Nawawi Pomolango said that corruption is a real threat to development, justice and welfare. Through the momentum of the Hakordia commemoration, it is hoped that it can increase public awareness of the dangers of corruption. Nawawi also expressed the need for cooperation from all parties to realize a clean, just and dignified Indonesia towards Indonesia Emas 2045.

"How far have we contributed to fighting corruption? Have we played an active role in encouraging transparency and accountability in our environment? We understand the challenges of eradicating corruption in Indonesia are enormous. However, we also believe that with the spirit of Asta Cita under the leadership of the President, strengthening the KPK, implementing clean governance, and enforcing independent and fair law can be realized," he said.

In line with this direction, the Malang City Government is also committed to being ready to unite in creating an Indonesia free from corruption. In the series of events held to commemorate Hakordia, among others, are the Launch of the 2025-2026 Corruption Eradication Action, Awards for Law Enforcement and Improvement of Governance, Launch of the Anti-Corruption Regency/City Pilot Project, Launch of the Foreign Language Corruption Prevention Guide (PANCEK). Hakordia 2024 will also present a corruption eradication expo/exhibition, an exhibition of confiscated goods, and an auction of confiscated goods and gratuities. (yul/yn)
