Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) distributed various forms of social assistance and held a Cheap Food Movement which was integrated into the Integrated Social Movement (Ngalam Gesit) at Malang City Hall, Tuesday (10/12/2024). The total recipients of assistance in this activity were 20.810 beneficiaries.
"So Ngalam Gesit is not only related to social assistance, which includes health, education, and others. More than that, Ngalam Gesit is about handling three national priority programs, namely inflation, stunting, and poverty management," he explained.
Ngalam Gesit also received appreciation from Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan. "Thank you and the highest appreciation to all ranks, especially the Regional Secretary, as well as regional apparatus in the Malang City Government and all related stakeholders, both from Baznas, TSP Forum, business actors, BI Malang, Hermina Hospital, Indomart and all stakeholders who participated in organizing Ngalam Gesit," said Acting Mayor of Malang.
Iwan said that the Ngalam Gesit event was one of the implementations of 11 priority development programs during his leadership. "I want to put it as a lesson learned as my duty as Acting Mayor of Malang. This (Ngalam Gesit) is extraordinary! Planning an integrated program, not moving alone, and the benefits are greatly felt by the community with the assistance received by the beneficiaries. This is a real and concrete form of commitment and the existence of all of us, stakeholders who pay attention to the community, especially the underprivileged community in need," he explained.
In Ngalam Gesit, various social assistance is distributed by related regional apparatuses within the Malang City Government and also companies through the Corporate Social Responsibility Forum. Among them are from Dinsos P3AP2KB, Dispangtan, Health Office, Public Welfare Section of the Malang City Secretariat, Baznas, Dispendukcapil, PUPRPKP Office, and there are TSPs from Hermina Hospital and Indomaret.
Of all the social assistance distributed, one of the manifestations of the spirit of Asta Cita's fourth mission is to strengthen the development of human resources (HR), science, technology, education, health, sports achievements, gender equality, and strengthening the role of women, youth, and people with disabilities, on this occasion social assistance for education was also distributed.
The assistance was in the form of Red and White uniforms and Elementary and Junior High School Scouts from the Malang City Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud). Furthermore, the Kesra Section distributed scholarship assistance for underprivileged families at the college level for 275 students, scholarships for underprivileged families at the high school level for 268 students, and assistance for orphans/the poor for 50 beneficiaries. And then from the Malang City Baznas distributed assistance for house renovation, education assistance, living cost assistance, assistance packages for the poor, and assistance in the form of 10 goats.
The recipients of this educational assistance are students who have above average academic abilities, are high achievers, and come from underprivileged families so that they can complete their education until they graduate with the hope that the dropout rate can continue to be suppressed as optimally as possible.
In addition, on this occasion, the Social Service of P3AP2KB of Malang City as the leading sector of Ngalam Gesit distributed various social assistance for the disabled and also for the elderly. From Dispangtan distributed various assistance ranging from hand tractors, seeds, and other agricultural tools. The Health Service of Malang City distributed health assistance packages for handling stunting and provided free examination booths.
Then, the Malang City Population and Civil Registry Office in this activity also provided administrative services, and the Malang City PUPRPKP Office distributed aid through the uninhabitable housing program. Not to forget, as a form of TSP, there are also Hermina Hospital and Indomaret which distribute social assistance in the form of basic food packages.
"My hope is that programs like this will be maintained, then planned more thoroughly, and improved, so that the benefits can be felt by the wider community," concluded the Acting Mayor of Malang. (yn)
