Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The development of Malang City from time to time continues to grow which is also followed by an increase in the number of its population. As an element of the regional government, of course the community wants not only advanced physical development, but also community welfare to be realized.
Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso while attending the 50th anniversary of Perumda Tugu Tirta at the Perumda Tugu Tirta Office, Wednesday (18/12/2024) said that one of the indicators of community welfare is the fulfillment of drinking water services. "This is where Perumda Air Minum Tugu Tirta must be able to play its role. There must be no community that is not reached and not served properly," he said.
Therefore, on this momentum, Regional Secretary Erik left several messages as a reminder for all so that one of the BUMDs owned by the Malang City Government can continue to develop as one of the leading BUMDs. First, the many achievements achieved by Perumda Tugu Tirta must be a motivation to maintain and even exceed the standards of drinking water services.
"Second, our goal is to realize 100% safe drinking water for the people of Malang City which must be followed by innovation in managing water resources and expanding quality distribution networks. Furthermore, improve the competence of human resources in managing drinking water through the Competency Test Place (TUK) which has just been inaugurated," he explained.
Then the fourth is to strengthen collaboration with USAID-IUWASH Tangguh, Bappenas, the Ministry of PU and PD Perpamsi East Java as well as with the Malang City Government as an effort to improve drinking water services for the community. And finally, the Regional Secretary of Malang City advised to continue to develop innovation in drinking water management, to face and adapt to the era of technology and current climate challenges as an android-based customer application that will be launched.
"Despite all that, I am sure with the strong commitment of all levels of Perumda Tugu Tirta, we can together maintain public trust. I hope Perumda Tugu Tirta continues to be a pioneer in drinking water services at the local, national, and even international levels," he continued.
The Regional Secretary of Malang City also invited all parties to support in realizing Malang City as a healthy, environmentally friendly, and sustainable city through quality drinking water management. (say/yn)
