The person in charge of the activity, Lilik Suharti, said that the health check activity for AKAP and AKDP bus drivers was part of the preparedness for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays. "This activity is an annual agenda of the Malang City Health Office to ensure the health of drivers so that they can carry out their duties properly and minimize the number of traffic accidents," explained Lilik.

A total of 100 AKAP and AKDP bus drivers participated in this health check. For the health workers involved, in addition to the Malang City Health Office, officers from other agencies also came to help, including from the Malang City Hospital, Health Centers, Malang City Police, Malang City BNN, Malang City Satpol PP, Malang City Transportation Office, Arjosari Terminal UPT and Malang City Labkesda.

In addition to undergoing a health check, on this occasion the drivers were also given vitamins with the aim of increasing their immune system, and medicines were prepared if drivers were found to have a history of high blood sugar, hypertension, and so on.

The technical process of the health check begins with registration, a complete health check, then undergoing a urine test from the Malang City BNN, and finally returning to the doctor to conclude whether or not they are fit to drive, fit with notes, or not fit to drive. "Hopefully the results are good and all are healthy," explained Lilik.

One of the bus passengers, Ahmad Setiawan, admitted that he was happy and appreciated the health check for bus drivers this time. According to him, this makes bus passengers comfortable and not worried because the health of the driver has been ensured through a good check. "I am from Riau, currently still studying at Poltek. From Malang City to my hometown, the travel time is usually two days," explained Ahmad. (cah/yn)
