Digitalization of the procurement process provides many benefits, including time and cost efficiency, reduction of administrative errors, and increased transparency and accountability.

This positive change needs to be supported by all parties in order to create a more professional and reliable procurement. In this regard, e-Catalog As an application for procurement of goods and services, it has provided various conveniences of access, accelerated the procurement process, and ensured that every transaction can be tracked properly, thereby increasing transparency.
Several of these things were conveyed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso when opening the Socialization and Technical Guidance e-Catalog Version 6 at the Savana Hotel, Wednesday (22/1/2025). He added that currently the procurement application for goods and services developed by the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) has been updated through e-Catalog Version 6.
Regional Secretary Erik added that this is to improve efficiency and transparency in the government procurement process. This latest version presents a number of additional features that aim to simplify procedures, improve transaction traceability, and expand the scope of goods/service providers.
"With this latest feature, it is hoped that it will accelerate the procurement process with a higher level of accuracy, thereby reducing the risk of errors and accelerating the realization of government spending," he explained.
On the other hand, through e-Catalog integrated, useful to ensure that the entire procurement process is carried out openly and can be monitored by all related parties. This is important to increase public trust in the performance of local governments.
In responding to this application change, Erik said that it certainly requires readiness from all ASN. For this reason, he hopes that all participants can follow this socialization well, can operate and understand each available feature with the hope that in the future they can apply it optimally in each work unit. In addition, it is important to ensure adequate technical support so that the adaptation process runs smoothly.
"With optimal readiness, it is expected that the implementation of this application can provide maximum benefits. I also hope that this socialization activity can provide better insight and understanding for participants in an effort to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of government procurement of goods and services," said Erik.
