The forum was attended by around 250 participants from all development stakeholders, including executives, legislatives, academics, and communities.

This Public Consultation Forum is a means of constructive interactive communication between all development stakeholders in Malang City, so that later more comprehensive and quality work programs can be formulated. Therefore, various elements of society are involved so that they can convey their aspirations.
On this occasion, Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan said that in the initial draft of the 2025-2029 RPJMN, several points were emphasized that would form the basis for compiling work programs at the regional level, namely sustainable growth, poverty reduction and development of quality human resources.
Therefore, the preparation of the Malang City RKPD is expected to be in line with the central government's program activities in accordance with President Prabowo's vision as outlined in the eight Asta Cita missions. The theme of the 2026 Malang City RKPD is 'Strengthening Sustainable and Globally Competitive Inclusive Economic Transformation' which is in line with the policy direction of the East Java RPD 2025-2026.

Of course it is still early and there will be a next stage that will be more detailed and accommodate the aspirations of the community's desires and needs through Musrenbang which we will perfect and determine later. Including input from the DPRD as our strategic partner in implementing the development of Malang City, of course we will collaborate well," he explained.

In the fields of economy, infrastructure, and environment, Malang City Government emphasizes on strengthening the creative economy, fiscal independence, development and spatial planning and city infrastructure. Environmental development, increasing disaster resilience and climate change are also not left out of the development plan. Meanwhile, several strategic issues related to welfare and social harmony and governance are also of special concern.
