During this visit, Assistant Deputy for Coordination and Facilitation of Public Service Best Practice Development Strategy Dr. Ajib Rakhmawanto, S.IP., M.Si. expressed his appreciation to Malang City for always participating in responding to central government policies and programs. Including one of them in efforts to encourage improving the quality of public services by always innovating. According to him, this shows that efforts to improve public services in various fields in Malang City continue to be carried out, one of which is in the education sector.

Furthermore, he revealed that the Ministry of PANRB also facilitates innovations from ministries, institutions, and regions to be included in public service competitions organized by the UN. "We will nominate or include this innovation in UNPSA events for the inclusivity category. So the hope is that this Jarik Ma'Siti Innovation will not only excel at the regional and national levels, but can also excel at the international level," he continued.

The Ministry of PANRB assessed that the innovation of Jarik Ma'Siti had a very extraordinary impact. This learning system successfully accommodated the needs of special students. "This innovation shows that learning can be built from two sides. This is extraordinary. How to encourage special students to be able to follow lessons in public schools," he said.

Ajib also mentioned that it is a matter of pride that this innovation has been recognized and even replicated by many other schools so that its positive impact is increasingly widespread. "So the benefits are greater and have a wider impact if it can be applied in other schools. This is extraordinary for the world of education in Indonesia," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Assistant for General Administration of the Malang City Secretariat Sri Winarni welcomed the visit of the Ministry of PANRB. According to her, this will certainly be a motivation for the Malang City Government to continue to strive to improve public services in all aspects by continuing to innovate.

"We continue to foster this, so that all work units can produce innovations in providing services. We also ask that we continue to receive guidance from the Ministry of PANRB so that we can always develop, because with innovations like this, many will certainly benefit, including in participating in international events. Of course, we need a lot of support from all parties," he said.

For your information, Jarik Ma'Siti, initiated by SMP Negeri 10 Malang City, was born from the increasing number of students with special needs (special needs) entering the school, while special assistant teachers (GPK) are limited. Guided by the law and the vision and mission of Malang City to provide guaranteed access and quality of education for all citizens, public schools in Malang City are required to accept students with special needs and provide services without discrimination.

The Jarik Ma'Siti program, which is included in the TOP 45 KIPP 2023, certainly contains an element of novelty as an advantage of this innovation. Jarik Ma'Siti is an inclusive education method in regular schools. This innovation is also carried out comprehensively from the screening process, learning, to evaluation. This program is implemented by first mapping student competencies with the 'GIDAIS MENING PINTER' method (Digging Data, Identification, Assessment, Matrix Planning, PPI (Individual Learning Program) and Therapy).

To meet the needs of special students, this program also presents an adaptive curriculum called ADA SOS (Adaptation, Simplification, Omission, Substitution). The teaching materials used have been adjusted to the needs of special students but remain relevant to the national curriculum. Students who have psychological and behavioral barriers will also be given psychotherapy. Not only from an academic perspective, students are also trained through the Self-Development Program (PPD) and life skills.

Not to forget, teachers also continue to be given programmatic assistance. Not only teachers and special students are involved in this program, but all school residents are also involved and even various other strategic partners are also involved to make this program a success and help special students to learn better.

The benefits of the Ma'Siti Jarik innovation are increasingly felt, with more and more schools replicating and transferring knowledge. At least all public junior high schools in Malang City have replicated the innovation with various adjustments, such as Simba Asia (State Junior High School 2), Nasi Tiga Beras (State Junior High School 13), Benang Mass (State Junior High School 3), and Serasi (State Junior High School 20). Even the Simba Asia and Nasi Tiga Beras innovations have also achieved achievements by entering the Top Public Service Innovation Group Replication 2024. (ari/yn)
