Malang city - The East Java Public Relations Association (Iprahumas) continues to improve its competence in implementing digital public communication. This is a commitment to following increasingly advanced technological developments and facing communication challenges in the digital era. Taking place at the Ijen Suites Resort & Convention Malang, the activity which took place from January 23 to 24, 2025 was organized by the East Java Iprahumas Branch Management Board (DPC).
The event was attended by the management and members of Iprahumas East Java. The two-day event presented resource person Erry Farid, or known as Anto Lupus, a communication consultant who is also a Digital Communication Technology (AI) Practitioner.
The Head of the East Java Iprahumas DPC, Rommy Perdana Putra, said that this activity not only discussed the annual work program, but also implemented... Capacity Building and Strengthening the Competence of Public Communication Human Resources of Government Public Relations, especially Public Relations Officers. The reason is, Iprahumas must become a strong institution because digital technology continues to develop along with the times.
"Iprahumas must be strong. It can be a place for career development and competence of its members. And this activity is the first step to strengthen the position of the public relations profession," he said at the opening of the activity.
Resource person Erry Farid explained the urgency of HR competency that must be possessed by Government Public Relations. So it is inevitable for every member of Iprahumas East Java to continue to improve their competency. Especially in the field of public relations which is very closely correlated with journalistic skills and creativity in creating other digital-based creative content.
The Chairman of Iprahumas Indonesia for the 2025-2027 period, Fachrudin Ali Ahmad, who attended the activity online, welcomed the steps taken by the East Java Iprahumas DPC to hold a work meeting and capacity building. According to him, as the vanguard in conveying public information, government public relations are required to continue to improve their competence for the sake of professional performance.
Fachrudin Ali Ahmad or often called Ali, encouraged the management of Iprahumas East Java for the period 2025-2027 to continue to improve competencies that are highly correlated to improving performance professionalism. This is because Government Public Relations has a strategic role as the vanguard in delivering public information.
"The challenge for Iprahumas Jatim is how to recruit many members and position Public Relations Officers as important in the Government. Of course, this must be balanced with increasing the capacity of human resources of members through capacity building today, for example," he said.
In addition, Ali said, to encourage the productivity and creativity of Public Relations personnel, Iprahumas will also hold an award event. This is a form of appreciation that will be given to Government Public Relations for their contributions and achievements. As well as a branding media for Iprahumas to have a greater impact on government institutions and the Indonesian people.
"We have also offered to several Presidential Communication Offices and Komdigi so that Iprahumas can be involved in government programs. What can be accessed is the Ministry of Health program through the Free Health Check-up activity. The output is to disseminate it through public relations content to stakeholders," he said.
