Building the Quality of Life of PPKS with Rumah Pijar

Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Mental health issues are an important part of realizing individual and community well-being. The Social Service for Child Protection, Women's Empowerment, Population Control, and Family Planning (Dinsos P3AP2KB) of Malang City presents Rumah Pijar as a form of concern for people with mental disabilities, with a focus on holistic and inclusive social rehabilitation.

One form of activity is to provide spiritual and social guidance to people with disabilities, homeless people, and beggars outside social institutions who are Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) in the hall of Lesanpuro Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang City, Thursday (30/1/2025).

Head of Dinsos P3AP2KB Malang City Donny Sandito W., said that Rumah Pijar is present as a solution to provide social rehabilitation services for people with mental disabilities. Therefore, Rumah Pijar is committed to providing the best service and empowering people with mental disabilities to be able to live a more independent and meaningful life.

Rumah Pijar activities are carried out to provide holistic social rehabilitation services to people with mental disabilities. This program aims to create an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment so that individuals with mental disabilities can develop their abilities optimally, increase independence, and reintegrate themselves into society.

"With Rumah Pijar, we hope that there will be an increase in positive changes for people with mental disabilities in Malang City, while also creating a more inclusive and supportive social ecosystem," said Donny.

Not only targeting PPKS, this activity is also aimed at the Village Health Forum (FKD), Shelter Clients, shelter officers, and social pillars (PKH social assistants and social rehabilitation assistants). Therefore, through this activity, Donny also encouraged the communities and social pillars present to also become agents of change in the community to facilitate the needs and problems faced by PPKS.

"Community involvement, especially in changing the mindset and behavior of PPKS in building a quality of life that is in line with religious guidance and social norms so that their social functioning can increase naturally and appropriately," he concluded. (ari/yn)
