Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) held a Plenary Meeting to Announce the Determination of the Elected Candidate Pairs for Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the 2024 Malang Mayor and Deputy Mayor Election in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD, Monday (10/2/2025).
After the plenary meeting, Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan Kurniawan congratulated the elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat – Ali Muthohirin who will carry out the mandate as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Malang for the 2025-2030 period. "Hopefully they will be candidates for trustworthy leaders and can carry out what we all hope for, especially the community and the Malang City Government," he said in prayer.
Acting Mayor of Malang Iwan said that the elected Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat has strong capital to take more appropriate steps, considering that he previously served as Acting Mayor of Malang for ten months. "Then I continued, and sat down with Mr. Wahyu to discuss what the priority programs are. I am sure and hope that I can make the slogan that is carried, namely 'Malang City Mbois Berkelas' will bring Malang City to be even better," he continued.
Regarding the work program that will be synergized, Iwan said that of the eleven priority development programs during his leadership, there are some that need attention. "Like flood management, there are still points that must be collaborated and synergized between the executive and legislative," he explained.
Iwan emphasized that no less important is collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). As is known, Iwan Kurniawan during his mandate as Acting Mayor of Malang still serves as Director of Planning, Evaluation, and Information for Regional Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, therefore he admitted that he was ready to be bothered and synergize so that in the future Malang City will be more advanced and developed.
