Beware of Water Puddles and Garbage Piles

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Since January until the second week of February, the Malang City Health Office (Dinkes) recorded 44 cases of Dengue Fever (DBD). In addition to puddles of water during the rainy season like now, another trigger is the development of mosquitoes Aedes Aegypti namely the emergence of puddles of water that arise from garbage that is not disposed of properly.

Head of the Malang City Health Office, Dr. Husnul Muarif.

Therefore, all levels of society should always maintain environmental cleanliness and anticipate puddles. It should be noted that a dirty environment will also trigger other diseases such as diarrhea triggered by flies.

Some of these things were conveyed by the Head of the Malang City Health Office, Dr. Husnul Muarif, Friday (21/2/2025). Garbage in the form of cans or other places that cause puddles, said Husnul, will become a place for mosquitoes. Aedes Aegypti breed.

"The DBD cases are quite high, so if there is an indication that one of the family members is detected, immediately take them to the nearest health center or hospital. That way they can be helped immediately," said the bespectacled man.

When it does not rain, Dr. Husnul reminded that piles of garbage can also cause respiratory infections. Piles of garbage are often contaminated with dust carried by the wind. Therefore, the public is advised to be vigilant so that the inhaled dust does not attack the respiratory tract.

"In this context, in addition to always maintaining body resistance, the use of masks while driving or other activities can suppress the entry of dust through the respiratory tract. So, let's always maintain the health of the body and the environment," he concluded. (say/yn)
