Visiting MCC, President's Special Envoy Raffi Ahmad Surprised and Proud

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The President's Special Envoy for the Development of the Young Generation and Arts Workers, Raffi Ahmad, visited the Malang Creative Center (MCC) in Malang City, which is the center of activities for creative industry players, Saturday (22/2/2025).

Raffi said that Malang City could be a national role model. He considered that the development of the creative economy in Malang City was extraordinary, especially with the presence of approximately 500 thousand creative economy actors supported by the MCC and the achievement of Malang City towards the World Creative City.

"I am very proud, and I pray for the process of Malang City becoming a World Creative City. Hopefully with the MCC, Malang City can be a national example. So other cities/regencies can emerge that can become creative cities and be known to the world. I am surprised, and believe that the potential of the creative economy, human resources of Malang City can be a national example," said Raffi.

Accompanied by his wife, Nagita Slavina who is also the CEO of Rans Entertainment, Raffi said that in programs like this the government and the private sector must be present. His visit is a concrete step of commitment in an effort to accelerate the acceleration of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in achieving Indonesia Emas, where the creative economy is included in the eight missions called Asta Cita.

Raffi explained that there are many government efforts for creative economy actors, one of which is encouraging financing. Such as through the People's Business Credit (KUR) fund that can be utilized by creative economy actors and MSMEs. Then there is LPDB or the Cooperative and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (KUMKM) Revolving Fund Management Institution, and others.

"Surprise you, in Malang there are 500 thousand creative economy actors. If all of Indonesia unites, it would be extraordinary. Through this visit we heard the aspirations, later we will report to the President and convey to the relevant ministries/institutions even BUMN and BUMD. For startups, currently the Minister of Creative Economy is intensifying the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Currently, there are three that are protected and we are reviewing them, namely local products, consumers and local platforms," ​​explained Raffi.

The government synergizes with the private sector to continue to encourage funding programs for startups, creative industries and creative economy to jointly realize creative Indonesia. "For that I invite Nagita, as a private sector, fellow entrepreneurs may be a bridge for projects that can be collaborated. The message from Mr. Prabowo, we must collaborate, not Super Man but a super team. Hopefully there will be more places like MCC in Indonesia," he hoped.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Malang City, Dwi Rahayu when met after receiving the visit of the President's Special Envoy Raffi Ahmad expressed his hope that the creative economy in Malang City would grow even more. "Because he was present at MCC and already knows about the existence of MCC, hopefully there will be a program from the center that can be rolled out to Malang City," he hoped.

As hoped by Raffi Ahmad, Dwi hopes that Malang City can become a World Creative City that can encourage other cities/regencies to become world creative cities/regencies too.

"He also promised to be present when there is ICCN, if I'm not mistaken it will be held in November. Hopefully with his presence, Malang City will be more visible in the center, so that not only the excitement of Malang City, but programs from the center can also enter Malang City," he concluded.
