Coordinator of P5 SMPN 3 Malang City, Arie Susani, M.Pd revealed that through this activity, students are invited to dare to show their various creativity. "The students in grade VII in this activity performed regional songs. This is done to introduce regional songs that are currently starting to be forgotten," explained Arie.

Moreover, children are also given the freedom to explore dance movements while performing regional songs according to their own interpretations. This is what makes this performance even more interesting.

Then for class VIII, they presented a parade of Malangan batik. Arie said that the Malangan batik project was worked on by his students for the past three months, starting from making patterns, canting, making batik, to making books related to Malangan batik.

"Related to batik, SMPN 3 Malang City also collaborates with a team from SMKN VII Malang City to improve the quality and education related to batik development," he explained further.

Meanwhile, for class IX, Arie said that on this occasion they presented four Malangan mask characters made from fiber material.

A grade VIII student of SMPN 3 Malang City, Azka Kenzie, admitted that she was very happy with this performance. According to her, this can be an event to explore batik which is a heritage and cultural wealth of the Indonesian nation.

He said, through the performance he participated in, he could now feel that to produce a work requires dedication and concentration. "Starting from making patterns, stamping batik, to the final process, we did everything ourselves with the group. Of course, I am very happy to be able to make batik, exhibit it, and show our work to friends and parents who are present at school," said Kenzie enthusiastically. (cah/yn)
