Surabaya (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City has successfully passed the second stage of the 2025 East Java Provincial Regency/City Regional Development Award (PPD) assessment. Only 11 regions in East Java have successfully passed this stage. This year, Malang City submitted an Integrated Poverty Alleviation Innovation through the PDKTSAM (Malang City Social Welfare Data Collection) application, which is the regional flagship program selected for assessment.
Responding to Malang City's passing to the next stage, Malang Mayor Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM emphasized that the Malang City Government will continue to promote poverty alleviation programs, one of which is through the PDKTSAM application. According to Wahyu, PDKTSAM is able to become a social welfare database for Malang City that can be utilized in an integrated manner by regional apparatus.
"Of course, appreciation for the performance of all regional apparatuses so that Malang City can pass to the second stage of the PPD assessment. Hopefully today's presentation will provide maximum results. Our target is not only what ranking will be achieved, but further how the planning, implementation and innovation that we present will truly have a consistent impact on poverty alleviation in Malang City," said Wahyu during the presentation of Malang City Development Performance and Innovation at the East Java Provincial Bappeda Office, Jl. Pahlawan Surabaya, Thursday (6/3/2025).
Integrated Poverty Alleviation Innovation through PDKTSAM is present as a community welfare data system in determining the right policies for implementing programs/policies to be more effective and on target to improve community welfare.
"This is also in line with our second mission, which is to create a prosperous and independent society based on a stable and adaptive economy. So this innovation is a form of our commitment to develop and utilize technology to improve the quality of service to the community, in the form of implementing one poverty data for Malang City which is very helpful in the intervention of poverty reduction programs in Malang City," explained Wahyu.
Currently, PDKTSAM has been utilized by several regional apparatuses such as the Education and Culture Office for the 2024 affirmative PPDB pathway, as well as the provision of free uniforms for underprivileged students, Bulog to obtain target data for providing food assistance, DPUPRPKP to provide social assistance for uninhabitable houses, and the Manpower Office PMPTSP to hold skills training for job seekers.
Through these efforts, Wahyu said that Malang City was able to realize a decrease in the poverty rate compared to 2023, which was 4,26% and in 2024 it successfully ranked second lowest in East Java, which was 3,91%, far below the national average of 9,03%.
For information, there are two stages in the PPD assessment, the first stage is a technical assessment of documents, then the second stage is a presentation consisting of presentation, interview session and verification. (Ts/yn)
